    "Scarface of Arabia". Scotty, it sounds like it's worth a look-see.

    The movie "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" with Ellen Burnsteyn in 1980 had the tune "All the Way From Memphis" by Mott the Hoople.
    Peter Overend Watts: a monster good bassist.
    Movie kind of sucked, but ... Mott the Hoople. 'Nuff said. B)

    This is a cool thread topic that deserves more traction :)

    My paltry offering -- I believe that this song was part of the soundtrack of a mid-1990s move, about which I know absolutly nothing and which I believe was called "The Crossing Guard".

    It is a m - o - f - o of a fine song, though.

    Not sure if it's a well known movie or not, but Harold and Maude had about a dozen Cat Stevens songs throughout it. Seems like there were a couple I hadn't heard since.

    Not a horrible movie, by any means, but again perhaps not well known. Vision Quest with Matthew Modine is one of my favorites. Tons of music in the soundtrack including Journey, Sammy Hagar, Foreigner, Quarterflash, and Madonna.

    Almost Famous has an absolutely stacked 70's rock soundtrack. Of special note is David Bowie's rendition of "Waiting For The Man" - AFAIK the soundtrack of the movie is the only place to get it.

    Also, the "Stillwater" songs are pretty good (Stillwater is the fictitious band in the movie). The Stillwater songs were written by Cameron Crowe and Nancy Wilson, on their honeymoon....

    Indeed it did - the "bootleg" edition came with the 5-track Stillwater CD. Unfortunately, it is a poor recording - about MP3 quality.

    I forgot about that one. I used to really like the song, and thought the movie wasn't bad either.

    Yet again, I know nothing of the movie (other than that it existed); but the theme song, as I recall, was a pretty big hit. I also remember that "The Royal Guardsmen" (of Snoopy vs. the Red Baron "fame") covered this song, too.

    You are aware aren't you that the song "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" by Gene Pitney was NOT the theme song for the movie aren't you?

    It was not part of the film. A lot of people think it was the theme song but it was a totally separate song that became a big hit for Pitney.

    As for the movie, it's a 4-star classic western masterpiece. A must-see for any fan of Lee Marvin, Jimmy Stewart or John Wayne. The song is pretty-good too but the two are totally separate.
