I have to drive a bit but is this a decent deal on a BDP-93

https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/ele/6030620941.html

Or should I hold out to see if a 103 ever comes available at a decent price?
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

They sell on ebay for that price or less shipped all day. So it's not a great Craigslist price imo. And others here disagree, but the advantage of eBay is a very good 45 day return policy, so you get an extended trial in home. You get to inspect in person on Craigslist, but sometimes problems don't show up immediately. You can also purchase a square trade warranty when purchasing on eBay. So personally at that price I would turn to eBay.

I think it may be worth offering him a little less. The 93 is a solid machine, Ken (Nbrowser) bought my Old one, he's still using it trouble free. I would say it's going on 4-5 years old. It having the original box is a sign someone cared for it.

I liked the 93 so much I picked up another one on eBay for 250 bucks, after selling my 105D.

Just check ebay and not much there or at least I didn't see much.

So I should offer the guy $250 and I will require a demo of the unit. I can bring an HDMI PC monitor (perks of being an IT Warehouse manager) Seller said he could meet me 1/2 way in Oceanside but I will still need a power outlet.

With my luck one of the 103 will pop up on Saturday...

It's pretty simple. If you really want then set up a saved search for oppo bdp-93, and then decide how much your ceiling is. If it's $250 shipped that will be a little tough. $275 shipped you'll have one in a couple weeks tops.

That's a good deal. Don't be scared due to its age. These machines are solid. It's just a little slower than newer oppos.

I just got to work from meeting this very nice person.

Looks brand new for a 6 year old player. He said he never used it and boxed it up when Apple TV came out.

I paid $175, and yes it works. Only media we have at work are DVDRW so I burned a ISO and it loaded and played no problem

Yeah, guy was real cool, drove 50 miles to meet me 1/2 way in Oceanside and only hit me for $175...

It is very clean too, not a scratch and even the box looks new.

Been playing with it a bit, seams to load a little slower than my panasonic but has a better picture, much better. Have not tried to see if it will bitstream Atmos. Maybe I'll put on Hunger Games.

Netflix did seem a little slow too.

It will bitstream atmos, Mine does. And it does load a little slow. The QDEO is top notch, I found it better than what ever chip was used in my marantz 7702.

So playing with my new Oppo (well new to me) I have found it is Cinavia FREE! OMG score! I back every movie I own up. Never know which in-law is going to borrow my movies. Kids still can't put anything away.

So far I am liking this player, I hooked it up with an Audioquest Cinnamon to my AVR. It has the best picture of any BD player I have yet to own, even better than that old Pioneer Elite. SACD play sweet. Better than my DVP-NS3100ES.

Now that I know it is Cinavia Free I will retire my Sony BDP-S580 and put the Panasonic back in. The Panasonic is better at Netflix. The Oppo did pull MKV/MP4 off my NAS better than the Panasonic.

    rj542ft7k09j.jpg

As you can see why I back my movies up. Kids just can't put thing away.

I will keep the 3100ES in the HT for now for just CD.

I have the BDP 93 and it's a stellar bluray player and a decent transport. Analogue isn't bad except for some reason mine has something wonky going on in the signal going to the left front speaker. It acts as if I have a blown tweeter. When I hook it up digitally it's fine. Strange
