How long before the 205D or 205SE? I think all the 105 prices just dropped and will be soon flooding the market.

Not available yet. I recently purchased a udp-203. It is a great player. I also own a 103D. One thing about the 203 and I can't seem to find about the 205 is that the player no longer has any apps for netflix, pandora, etc. as Oppo has decided that they are redundant for many users who would get them on their avr or smart devices. I would only speculate that the 205 would have the same.

Could be the new video chip set Oppo had to switch to is not compatible with Darbee video processing, or isn't needed because of HDR. I am glad they are keeping the price of the 205 down, but if I was to buy an Oppo it would most likely be the 203. I would not sell my 105D.

    You mean this on https://www.amazon.com/Sony-UBP-X800-Ultra-Blu-ray-Player/dp/B01N4RCPKO/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1492646418&sr=1-1&keywords=sony+ubp-x800

Or are you waiting to see if they ever make another ES? I would like to get an Oppo been looking for a used 103, hard to find at a decent price.

I was looking at the Sony X800 but for me it would not be much if any better than my Panasonic.

Nope I mean this one waiting for its release date and price this looks interesting but if they are asking a Oppo price then the Oppo 205 it is. I'm still interested to see what the UBP -X1000 ES has to offer and its price range I'm assuming this will be released soon also.

    Ha

    I had a 93
    then a 103D
    and just got a 203

I like my Marantz SA8004 for audio but love the speed and accuracy of the Oppo BDP's

Had a Sony ( I think it was their first BDP) that weighed like 20lbs it was slooooooooow when it worked.

    No more Sony for me

Have had a 203 for a few months. I didn't have a cd transport and that had a nice combination of features. Supports my Squeeze Server on board and even better is the UDP app.

Just put in the Sonica tonight and have it in the headphone setup streaming direct from SqueezeServer. So far...so good! The app functions very nicely.

I really like the accuracy of the upper registers - quick and not overdone.

    Nice devices!

I don't know about the analog part, but the UHD 4K video is freaking awesome. I was one of the first to get the 203 and I love it. Even upscaled Blue Rays are fantastic. I have now had the 83, 93, 103, and 203.

They "will" but Oppo does not list them as a Pre-Amp. mainly because if the Oppo does not mesh well with the amp, you can get yourself into a lot of trouble.

A lot of people have done this and they do it VERY successfully, but Oppo will not tell you directly to do it.
