Sda function on new amp question.

I recently hooked up my Yamaha mx1000 amp to my 2.3's. The amp . Has separate level controls for each channel. When I shut left off, thereb is some sound from the channel using just the right knob. Vice-versa on the other side. Is this due to the sda cable ?
