    :)

Well -- I guess the size and weight could be useful if one is space-limited or cannot lift too much weight.

Otherwise, I lost interest in "specs" about 20 years ago, when I realized that, by and large, they don't correlate in any meaningful way to the experience of listening to a component (especially given any interplay -- a/k/a "synergy" -- between the component in question and one's sources and loads).

In fairness, the input and output impedance values for, e.g., a power amp can[/i[ give some insight into how "interactive" the component will be with one's other components.

And then there's the "power output" spec. In theory, an amplifier with a very capable power supply will be able to deliver twice its rated power into a 4 ohm load compared to an 8 ohm load -- but even these two numbers :) can be misleading.

Manufacturers have been known to under-rate 8 ohm power to make their 4 ohm spec look better.

Neither number really tells one much about how well the amplifier will perform into a real-world load (ahem, a loudspeaker ahem). Most loudspeakers have complicated impedance curves and are more or less reactive loads than the noninductive, purely resistive loads used to test amplifiers.

So, I'd say that, absent an audition, the specs don't tell one much.

tubes. I can't be much help here.
If it was SS I'd say it was a desktop unit.

Sounds to me like a sand integrated amp with a tube buffered stage in it. 11 pounds ....I've had dvd players that weighed more.

Like Mark said though, specs don't tell the whole story but can be a guide of what to expect at least, or it's limits. Whats this puppy going to be driving ?

I (ahem) missed the tubes. Looks like Chinese tube types, so, indeed, a hybrid.
Makes me think of one of these abominations (although I guess it's a little more beefy than this):

All things considered, my default reaction would be "avoid like the plague", but that's just me.

I will offer one aside re: weight. Generally speaking, we hifi nuts tend to think "heavier = better", and manufacturers do know that. So much so that Electrovoice, of all companies (!?!) once added a hunk of extra metal plate to the chassis of a component to bulk up its curb weight. The added mass was just there to add heft, by all accounts.

Of course, nowadays, a manufacturer would crow about "resonance control" when they added gratuitous mass to a component so that it didn't feel cheap ;)

First thing I thought when I read it was "Douk Audio"
Now *some* Chi-Fi can be half-way decent. And with a bit of judicious D.I.Y. work can border on good.
    That's not one of them.
