Not about audio....Food.

The wife is going to be in Boise Idaho soon, taking some clients out to dinner from Simplot, go figure. Anyway, they are going here...

https://www.chandlersboise.com/

This joints menu has got to be one of the most complete menus I've ever come across. With a wine list to match yet. I mean...Abalone, in Boise Idaho ? Here I thought she'd get stuck eating potatoes for every meal. Check out this joints menu, wow.

Abolone steaks come at a premium cost I have an uncle in Boise he moved there from San Diego. When we were kids he would go diving for Abolene in Mexico just south of San Diego and always fed us Abolene Steaks. The last time we were in Boise for Christmas a few years ago he kept talking about his Abolene stash that he buys somewhere in Boise, he never did bust it out, we had to eat Elk instead. I could live in Idaho the Boise area is awesome. I bet your wife will enjoy herself you have a reason to be Jealous.

But Tony, I didn't see broccoli rabe on the menu!

Last time I had Abalone was at this place.

    https://highlandsinn.hyatt.com/en/hotel/dining.html

You don't see it on menu's much because of the strict restrictions on harvesting them. To see it on a menu in the Midwest is unheard of. The dinner I had in Carmel at the joint in the link had to be one of the best meals I had while in California. If you guys love seafood, and you ever see wild caught Abalone on a menu, order it, you won't be disappointed. Just a public service announcement for those who might be traveling the Boise way.

Use to go south into Mexico for Abalone all the time. There was a steak house in TJ that was fantastic. 1/3 the cost of a US steak house.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

Mighty pricey menu. $2.75 per oyster on the half shell, I don't think so. Glad I live in Florida.

I was born in Chile; I ate a lot of abalones when I was a kid. I hear they are scarce down there these days. Haven't had one in probably 30 years. I miss that unique texture/taste.

I have never experienced this but if I were too? I imagine deep back Yack snot mixed with Himalayan black bear sweat mixed with deep dish American snail trail based upon foie gras for flavor along with cumin and Cajun flavors.

    Would probably taste wonderful!

Or like my toilet would depending on the day. It depends, which one must run to or need to go throughout the day.

I would assume for a price you can get any seafood fresh not frozen shipped overnight these days. I did a fountain install here in Minneapolis and they had a fresh three foot octopus on the counter ,ready to cook. I do not know how they cooked it? Peace. D

Best oysters I've ever had was near Ft. Lee in Virgina. I asked how fresh they were, dude said came out of the water 10 min. ago. I had 3 dozen by myself. The rockfish was to die for had one if those also.

You would assume correct. I'm always ordering crab cakes from Maryland, Oysters from Washington state on the other coast. West coast has the best Oysters hands down.....and who has complaints about crab cakes from the east coast. Flying it in cost as much as the product itself so you pay almost double if you want fresh.

Being in the Midwest and a seafood lover, your caught between a rock and a hard place.....unless you consider smelt good seafood. To me, salt water fish tastes better than fresh water fish, though I wouldn't turn down some pan fried Trout/Walleye/Bass.

Tony, the oysters from the West coast are most excellent, but as of late, you may wish to avoid the ones that glow in the dark.

My cousin introduced me to escargot at a fine scarfin' establishment in Washington, DC back in the day. Not having tried them before, I was a little reluctant. But .... mmmmmmm. :D

So you've apparently never had Oysters from Cape Cod bay. Wellfleet-ian, Duxbury, and Barnstable oysters are considered some of the best in the world. I've eaten more than my fair share and now i wish i could have them for lunch....dag nabbit!
