I had the first version since they came out. The new software they pushed down a few months back fouled it up good. They gave me the newest Hopper to replace it. I didn't like the new remote that came with it so the tech programed the old as well to work my new box.

Yes I read the new remote is not for everybody. Nice to know the original remote will work.

My soon to be Ex wife would NEVER of been able to use it. I would of had many phone calls at work railing me.

Old one works as it should on everything. Then again its nice to have two.

The new software takes some getting used to but I love it. It is everything the first one should of been in the first place. Nice to have 16 tuners and not be hung up when someone in the family (hint hint) is recording on every tuner (3) on the old hopper and there is nothing you haven't watched on the HD.
I'm sure you'll like it John.

Do they charge you to upgrade? I have Hopper 2 with a Super Joey and 3 wireless Joeys. Would I need to swap out every box or do the older Wireless Joeys work with Hopper 3?

Usually they just make you sign a 24mo. Agreement. Myself being a 25yr Customer they forgo that.
