OMG, I'm a moron! Lol

Ok, so thanks to the help of these forums I rebuilt a pair of SDA2ATLs a couple years ago. I always liked them but never loved them.

After reading many discussions where people said to use the battery trick to test my connections I finally did it. You know where I'm going with this... yup, I'm a moron and had one of the mids connecked backward!

Just fired up my "sound check" Playlist and OMG!! Those tracks just came to life for the first time. Wooooohoooo!

Just thought I'd drop by to mention it. :)

This is and has always been my favorite community! Thanks everyone!

    Don't feel too bad.

    I once installed brake pads backwards.

    Reversing the polarity will not fry your speakers or amp.

    If I reverse the speaker connections on the terminal cup, with the IC connected, a small fuse inside my Adcom 555 will blow when the volume is turned up to moderate levels. At low levels it doesn't sound right. Like an idiot I have done it more than once by not paying careful attention when setting up the speakers. Maybe that fuse shouldn't blow. I don't know.

    Ah yes, that's because you just created a non-common ground situation.

    @cascius,

    If that oversight makes you a moron, I hate to think what I am!

    I'm not sure why, but this brought to mind an old saying:
