Plugging a speaker port

So the BW PM1 come with little foam ports, it is well diagramed in the manual that plugging ports cause attenuation of bass. Does plugging the ports also affect efficiency of a speaker? Like if the standard efficiency is 87db/w, does it dip even further with a sealed enclosure?

Interesting, when I bought mine there were no plugs. Wondered if they were supposed to and what effect they had.

I use the port plugs on my B&W CDM1NT bookshelves.
I've found that it acts like a steep slope cutoff that makes it easier to integrate my sub.

My psb has them also. I didn't notice a volume difference, just tone difference.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

Looks like BW says it decreases the slope of the cut offMagico, JL, Emm, ARC Ref 10 line, ARC Ref 10 phono, VPI, Lyra, Boulder, AQ Wel, SRA Scuttle Rack, Bluesound -
I read that it helps if you plug when speakers are close to the walls.

I'm going to call B&W today and order some plugs. If I don't use them at least I'll have them if I sell them. -
Tube socks make excellent substrate for "lossy" (aperiodic) vents. Just thought I'd mention that.
You can experiment with different materials (cotton, spandex blends, etc.), clean vs. dirty, etc.
I am actually not being entirely facetious. Not entirely.

Well... Now I'm missing one of the smaller tube plugs.
I look around and there's 1 suspect.

I always take the plugs out.
It kills the low end.
