Dolby Atmos Placement

I've been curious on Dolby Atmos speakers lately since my receiver supports it. Just wondering anyone here has experienced a Dolby Atmos set up? Worth it?

Since I already covered up my walls and can't stack the speakers like how some of the demos are out there, can they just be placed on top of the center console since all its doing is firing sound upward towards the ceiling and back down? I am already starting to see sound bars with Dolby Atmos enabled as well.

What are your guys thoughts and opinions?

Thanks.

that may or may not work. I would get the speakers from some place that has a nice return policy.

for best ATMOS is to have in ceiling speakers. Netflix Stranger Things is in Atmos, sounds very good.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.
