New receiver necessary upgrade?

Options
Hey all, I'm using a Denon AVR1713 (5.1) currently with Polk monitor 60's front, Polk csi A6 center and two Polk tl2's surround.. also SVS pb12 sub. I have a little to spend on a new receiver, (1713 is not 4K pass thru but I've worked around that).
I'm looking at the Anthem mrx 520 (a little over my budget) or whatever suggestions I can get for around a grand. Question is will it be worth it? Will there be a significant improvement in the quality of the sound and clarity? I really don't want to spend the money if it's not going to improve my overall experience. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks, John.

If I were going to upgrade, and budget was around 1k, I would probably look at Marantz, Yamaha Aventage, or Pioneer Elite. If staying at 5.1, I think you'll get better bang for your buck.

Seems to me what your looking for is a newer 4K compatable AVR. Will allow you to play and stream the newer formats. Won't limit your choices of movies, even if you decide not to add speakers.

You could always see if something at A4L works for you http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/category/avreceiver/home-audio/receivers-amps/home-theater-receivers/1.html

I just got a Marantz SR5010 from there last month. A co-worker just picked up a new Denon form them no problems.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.
