Seen it though not a fan of the music. The phone booth story was a hoot or should I say "snort"

I thought it was really well done. I loved their first two albums, but started cooling to them with the third. Never really liked any of their stuff after that, and absolutely hated the Cetera stuff.

Nope Mark, just too many to list. ;) The old bands of 3 guitars and a drummer just sound so blah in comparison. Give me horns, dual pianos/keyboards, violins, etc I love it when it all comes together.

That original Chicago guitarist was fantastic. Seems like he accidentally shot himself? Or do I have the wrong guy.

I enjoy their albums up through 7ish and also despise the Cetera stuff. The early ones on MFSL vinyl are outstanding.

Will look for the video. Thanks, @gce .

well -- I take your point... but I was long, and am still, a fan of that oddly quaint British band that had a lead bassist and lead drummer, a guy who slung a microphone around while wearing fringe, and a gawky rhythm guitarist with a big nose.

These guys -- much beloved in B-more -- made good use of their "Crack Pack" horns, too, over the years. Not that I can find any good live examples on youtube

sorry -- we're a long way from Chicago now :(

    https://youtu.be/3z-GwdaKrn8

(they used horns well, too -- just not here...)

OK, no more thread hijack from me.

(PS I like a lot of Chicago's output, even some of the schmaltzy stuff)

Yes he was and yes Terry Kath shoot himself in the head playing around with a gun. What a waste...

When I was comin' along, Chicago was the favorite band of every member of every high school band -- at least in and around Baltimore.

Weird aside. Our high school band leader, Paul Wills, went to high school with "some" of the Chicago-ites. I don't know, or at least don't recall, which ones. He (Mr. Wills, that is) was, in point of fact, a relatively cool guy.

I was in the chorus, so not really a HUUUUUUUUUGE (as the POTUS would say) fan myself.

This said, between Mrs. H and me, I think we have most if not all of their albums from CTA up into the early 1980s :_ :*

I see they have a new Hi-Res Steven Wilson Remix of Chicago II on HDtracks that I'll have to download since I don't have any Albums. :( I guess I should hit the records stores and see what I can find.

Hmm, looks like I was off on album numbers/dates. I like up to 11. Stopped listening at Hot Streets, hehe. This was about the point I could no longer stomach Cetera.

That's pretty much my high school soundtrack, hehe. I haven't been able to find a decent sounding lp though. My original is worn out and my copy of the Rhino remaster was disappointing.
