Looks like you guys in the southeastern seaboard are about to take a bad one this week. Prepare and be safe....and don't do stupid stuff. Like, I have to go buy stamps in the middle of 140 mph winds, or having a Hurricane party outside. lol

I foresee a lot of work for Russ down there in the next few weeks.

    I am wondering if I should pack the Polks back up I just brought down here to Johns Island (barrier of Charleston, SC)! Mandatory evacuation. Alas my Tweed Fender and guitars will take precedent in the evacuation. Hope it isn't too bad, the geography of the Coast here may help mitigate the storm with some luck, as it did with Hugo back in 1989. Pretty strange to have to fight an urge to want the storm to go West (and hit Miami etc.) first...but I used to live right there too.

    Evacuate if your on the coast, grab the small things you couldn't do without (like your kids), and get insurance ryders for the bigger stuff. Just bc the govt officials are gunshy doesn't mean you wont get walloped eventually.

    Ya know, I'm always amazed at stupidity. You warn people, give them advanced notice, and they go "I'm stayin'".....and they are half a block from the beach. Then they complain nobody was there to rescue them. Just reading some comments from the locals on some sites who think it will be nothing more than a thunderstorm by the time it hits. To me, that's called complacency from 10 years of no major Hurricanes smacking you around.

    If this hits as a Cat 4, and your half a block from the beach, we can overnight a body bag to you now, just zip yourself in it and save us the trouble. ;)

    Titusville here......house is boarded, generator is ready to go,lots of propane for generator and a 55 gallon drum of gas for the Jeep..stations here have been out of gas for days....water was in very short supply as well....have lots of ice as well if needed.......guess we be close to ground zero but hopefully that shall change...stay safe all this is the real deal here..................
