While at work Friday I went skimming through my local craigslist ad, end up finding a pair of Polk Monitor 5s for $20. Fast forward a day and a half later, I meet up with the guy get the Monitors then ended up striking a deal for his Harman Kardon AVR 120 flat an additional $10. Turn around and sell the HK for $30 and now own another pair of 5s.

These are later models with drivers dated in the 90s and SL2500 tweets. Just a little scratches on the bottom of the cabs and a paint stain on one cabinet. Now to decide if I want to keep them or sell em.

They would pair well with your RTA11TL's. The same engineer voiced both the RTA11TL and the Monitor 5 Series 2.

I know! I've been tempted to try them in the set up! Since they would be used as surrounds and I don't do music with the HT much figured it wouldn't be worth it.

M-5s were my very first vintage Polks. Picked them up from a member in N.E. Pa. on a trip to visit my parents years ago. They're still doing time in a system, sometimes in use. Also my introduction to the peerless tweeter (5As). But I spent a lot more than a Jackson for them! lol

Wonderful for background music when writing or thinking, or doing some light reading, and definitely great for GRADING! I once graded 165 final exams listening to all nine of Beethoven's symphonies on them-more than once, but in ONE sitting. Then I fell asleep for about 13-14 hours!
    Currently orbiting Bowie's Blackstar.!

    Polk Lsi-7s, Def Tech 8" sub, HK 3490, HK HD 990 (CDP/DAC), AKG Q701s

    165 final exams?! Sheesh!

They were my first vintage polks as well, ended up selling my first pair as I was in due straits. Thinking of saving these for my little one once she gets old enough, pair then with a nice vintage marantz and the sound is great.
