Polk Audio Smartbar Speaker AM150303652 Sounds Muffled

I have a Polk Audio Smartbar Speaker AM150303652 that has always sounded muffled, particularly with recorded movies. It has never sounded clear. I purchased it from a Dish cable installer 2 1/2 years ago. Could I have purchased a damaged system? Or are there settings that need to be adjusted? Is this something that can be fixed?

    Welcome to Polk's forum. My advice would be to contact Polk's CS guys at: 1-800-377-7655 select option 1. I'm sure they can be of help.

  • On your Dish receiver, on the Audio Output setting (somewhere in the menu depending on the type of receiver) turn OFF volume leveling. For some reason this is on by default and seriously muffles the audio. I am a Dish installer, and this is what we have to do on all soundbar installs to have the audio sound right.
