    Joey_V,
Any updates on your journey with the boulder 2060? I am an audio research fanboy but i'm trying to decide between a used ARC ref250se tube monoblock or a boulder 2060.

    Thanks in advance...

Well, IIRC, it's still in his system.

    With Joey, that's saying something.

He goes through gear like underwear. So yeah that says something.

He also has a different approach than anyone else on the forum.

Very true. My comment wasn't meant to be offensive in any way.

The difference for me is I can't afford to hoard gear. I have to sell to afford upgrades. If I could hoard, I would have a serious problem. I'm talking rooms full of gear and cables.

I had noticed I haven't seen a post from him in a while. To me, forums are something I look at during idle time at work or home.

Expenditure is a non-issue in audio.

Exactly, also nice to have a backup system and OCD solver by switching stuff around. :p

He is. He stepped up to the plate for me when I drastically needed someone to. For that I am forever grateful. Our views on audio are different but that is neither here nor there. He has my respect for the human being he is.

    Warms the heart to hear!

Took a break from forums and posting and buying gear, wanted to self-cleanse for a while. I don't think I'll be posting as much as before and more or less enjoying what I have instead. I did a lot of listening during the past month or so, the system is really coming together and getting better and better. I have restrained any other upgrades though I have a couple on my sights, but I feel good about not chasing after perfection and rather just being content.

I've had a couple people come by my listening room in the meantime and they have been VERY surprised at what they heard, better than they expected. A few have said it's the best system they have heard thus far.

    Of the 2 possible upgrades:
    1. Audioquest Niagara 7000
    2. Next level above my speaker

But I don't think either is a dealbreaker for me if I don't do it. Lots more important things than getting the next big hype.

My daughter, Emma, enjoys the systems quite a bit.

SHe has now just turned 3. She says, "Let's play with speakas.....".

To which she points to the big speakers in the big room.... I tell her we have speakers in the other rooms, she says "no, we play with big speakas".

She plays the air-violin when we play certain music.

Staying at the Peninsula Chicago (though unable to make Axpona) where they have live music at night. Emma walked by the lobby last night and points, "Music... Piano... Drums...violin"

"No Emma, they're gone for the night."

But the night before, while mom was with Henry upstairs, Emma and I snuck downstairs to listen to the band.

"Does the music here sound better than Dad's speakers?", I ask.

    Emma nods.

    Attagirl.
