This should be pretty easy for you guys: picked these up a while ago off of CL but never used besides the first few months I had them. Both seem to be in perfect shape (cosmetically and functionally).
The problem is neither speaker has the back sticker showing identification.
I'm looking to start using these or to give them to a friend who needs a simple setup for his turntable. What can you guys tell me about these speakers that might be helpful. Thanks!

I'd guess LS 70's. Black tweeter doesn't look right though...

Here's one of my 50's. Definitely a different tweeter.

In the OP's picture is cabinet tapered or am I just seeing it that way ??

All of the LS speaks have a tapered cabinet.

Look like LS50. LS70 have bigger hole/port.

That looks like the soft dome tweeter from the R series speakers.

That's what I thought too. FrankenPolk perhaps? To the OP, if they are 50's or 70's, I have spare correct SL6001's if you need them.

The tweeter is fine, just dis colored.
That'd be the best discoloration, uniform all around.

Thanks all, I'll measure when I get home and PM about the tweeters. ^_^Living Room: Receiver: Pioneer Elite SC-25 | Turntable: Technics SL-B200 | CD Player: Rotel RCD-955AX | Fronts: Polk RTiA3 | Center: Polk CSi A4 | Rears: Polk FXi3 | Sub: Velodyne DPS-10 | Cables: AudioQuest Type4 & TypeA

Those are not the correct woofers either. They look to have something embossed on the dustcaps. Polk woofers don't have that. Also, the glue line between the woofer surround & cone is huge. Looks like a sloppy refoam job which wouldn't be need with a Polk woofer.

You might be right about a foam job but the woofers DO have an embossed dust cap.

Woofers/dustcaps are correct.
Looks like the surround separated and was glued back on.

I've had S4, S6 and S8 but don't remember their dustcaps having that design.
I think they were all smooth dustcaps on the S series AFAIR but I've seen those dustcaps, can't remember what model I had though.

^^^^ yes your correct. The out'r woofer looks similar-where the surround sits on the basket. The dust caps are smooth on the 6&8's i had. They look very similar is what i thought. I have never seen/heard the OP's model. But i wouldnt mind..

I remember now.
Those embossed dustcaps were on the drivers of my CS350LS center.

Realized that the pic I posted earlier was the speaker that I had replaced the drivers over the years. The replacements didn't have the embossed dust caps. Here's the one with all the originals.

Do those sound as good as they look. Sharp looking speaker IMO..

I like 'em but mine are moved to rear surrounds since I got my LS90's for mains.

That's a matching set, all the way to the embossed dust caps on the center.

I've got LSfx's on the sides that match too...

Yup, LS50s. Looks like the tweeters and one of the 6.5"s are different. Do you think the surround separating then being reglued would affect speaker function?
They def are sharp looking speakers, I have these and some 7Cs in waiting. The 7Cs I'd like to clean up as the veneer is a little rough around the edges. I've looked at a couple of threads of Polkies refinishing the cabinets, looks like a fun project!

I know the Mystery.
The tweeters and one woofer are from S8.
Look at the S8 on the outside on bottom row.
They are exactly same.

S8 has a 7.5" woofer, LS50 is 6.5. Guess again...

Could be from S6 or S4 but tweeter and woofer both look like from S series.
