Hello all,
BTW - I have these posted on DC CL and the Klipsch Forum....
I have a pair of Klipsch Epic CF-4 speakers in Cherry for sale. The specs on them are below. These are very efficient two-way speakers with two 12" woofers and a 2" horn in each cabinet. At 44" tall and 19" deep, they're also pretty big. But still relatively easy to place - I have them in my smaller living room space right now.
This pair is in really great condition. The veneers are thick and beautiful, no pits or scratches.
And they sound great. With the two big woofers in each enclosure they get very low. I've been powering them off of my Lepai 2020+ and that's been plenty of power. Great dynamics. Better range and balance than the klipschorns I previously had. Definitely a different animal from my restored Monitor 7s. But the treble has a smoothness similar to the 7s that other Klipsch speakers ( KG4 and Klipschorns) that I have had lacked. The CF-4s do not exhibit the honk of other Klipsches.
These were made in fall of 1994. Judging from the 2.5" tube ports these must be early Series 2 CF-4s. Series 1s were made through the first part of 1994 and were tuned a little differently from Series 2. All of the components save the port tubes were the same. I have A/B'd both Series 1 and 2 and find them both to be equally amazing. PM me for more of my impressions on that front.
I know that this is not the typical Polk Forum fare but I thought I'd post here and see whether anyone is interested.
thanks, and PM me with any questions
