While repalcing the binding posts on my 1986 SDA SRS's, I noticed the input pair of wires that lead to the upper post (highs) appear to have some green oxidation. This is speaker type zip wire which is clear with Vampire Wire written on them and red & yellow tape indicating polarity. You can see a kind of greenish tint through the clear insulation. The other two pairs of wire are not the same clear wire and are color coded 16 gauge and show no signs of oxidation when stripped back. My question- is it ok to just use "off the shelf" stranded 16AWG copper wire (like Parts Express or RS sells) to replace the oxidized pair? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
