I'm wanting to put a pair of RtiA3's as front heights and was wondering if these would hold them, or can anyone suggest a pair of wall mounts for them?

I own something so close they are basically the same, using them in my computer/listen room with some PSB's imagine B6's, They would hold the RTI A3's I'm sure as I almost bought the A3's but at last minute I went with the PSB's. This wall mount solved a lot of problems in a room with 2 PC's (1 in each corner).

Steve, I think there was someone on this forum who had posted some pics of his back surround speakers on those very mounts. IIRC, they were naked (without side panels) LSi7s and he said they were doing a great job.

From reading their specs (up to 33 lbs supported and up to a 10 degree tilt), it looks like you'd be fine.

Thanks Hermitism this was the exact thread I was thinking of I remember complimenting him on how his A3's looked great mounted to the wall I will have to PM him and ask if they have stayed in place with those rubber grips, as I wont drill holes into the bottoms of mine as they will be tilted down.

I have the Pinpoint's also but the when I really look at the picture of the ones you found, I swear there the same just slight difference in the style but has to be the same maker. I did not drill a hole in my and I have no fear of it falling out when tilted down.

I remembered that thread because I thought that guy did an absolutely incredible job of creating a nice clean look. I also remembered him saying that his wife said the center channel looked like a tongue coming out of the wall.

I thought his rear stands were the same stands you were asking about, but then I saw where he had posted a couple links showing what stands he used.

here a pic of the pinpoint, the looks have change from my old version, but notice the square adjustable frame used to tighten the holding clamp is all the same.

Wow. Do those side clamps really hold a speaker like the a3 well enough at a tilt? I would imagine it'd have to be pretty tight without any drilling.

YES, I been using them on some PSB's for awhile and they never shown any sign of slipping out. you tighten the the clamp with a Philips head screwdriver and they hold just fine! I probably gave them a good squeeze to be on the safe side.

I've got a pair of these:

    http://www.amazon.com/B-Tech-BT77-Ultragrip-Speaker-Black/dp/B004DCAOHK/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1404443085&sr=1-1&keywords=b-tech+bt77

Not sure how much shipping would be, but I'd sell them very cheap. They are NOT mint by any means. The bottom piece that covers the nut is cracked on one, maybe both.

I used velcro to secure the speaker to the stand because the tilt worried me a little too. So there is either velcro or velcro residue on the mounts. haha

That's what I'm hoping as I won't tilt it if I have to screw holes in my A3's, I did however hear blue Tak works or velcro. Looks like 3 choices thinking bout them pin points.

Hey PSOVLSK what speakers you got mounted to those?

I have a pair of Pinpoint AM40 mounts that I bought new and never did use as I went a different route for mounting my A3's. I would sell these for $40 plus shipping if you are interested. I did open the box to check them out but I still have everything in the original box and the instructions etc. let me know if there is any interest.

I used the Btech BT-77s for RTiA3s (and LSi7s), now called "Pinpoints" and similar to the other like looking variants.

I would not trust just using the side clamps to hold the speakers in securely. And I hated the thought of drilling into the sides of the cabinets.

Per a suggestion from another CP member - use zipties or a velcro strap around the speaker.

Here are some pics of when I had RTiA3's using these clamps with the zip ties looped thru the powerport on the back - perfectly strong and secure way to snug down the speakers to the wall mount. Oh...and earthquake worthy too as these went thru a temblor or two being a SoCal native:cheesygrin:

That's my house in the link with the Pinpoint's. To answer the question, my rears haven't budged a bit and I never drilled holes in them, just used the clamps. Every so often I climb up and see if they need tightening, but they are always still tight.

I know the OP posted this question a couple weeks ago, but I do own the EXACT (Video-Secu) mounts. Purchased recently from Amazon. Most of the other mounts of this type looked so similar that I went with the lowest priced ones since they had a lot of good reviews and a good deal of Q&A.

My take on them... I am using them for my rear surrounds (Boston Acoustic VR-M50). They work just fine. I err on the side of caution, so in addition to the side clamps with the rubber padding, I added a Velcro strip on the bottom of the speaker and the plate of the speaker mount. Don't think it was necessary, but made me feel better.

I can't see what the difference would be getting a higher priced brand, as there was nothing 'skimpy' about these mounts... good steel, no cheap plastic parts (other than the trim pieces to cover the hardware), and good strong welds.

What needs to be considered is the surface area of contact between the side clamps and your speakers. My Bostons have parallel sides, BUT they are chamfered at the bottom. So, only the top half of the side clamp makes contact with the speaker. As with others, I opted NOT to drill holes in the sides of my speakers. Even with the reduced contact area, they hold tight, even at full tilt. I was able to mount mine very tight to the ceiling, so if any movement were to happen, they would tilt forward further before they slid forward. Being so close to the ceiling, there is no room to tilt, so mine aren't going anywhere.

Now, with the curved sides on the RtiA3's, you'll have a LOT less contact area. I would secure them additionally (as Erik Tracy did) with zip ties or Velcro straps.

Bottom line, these mounts are well worth the price, very well made, and look SO much better than the home-made (from scrap wood) shelves I had the Bostons sitting on temporarily. The 33 lb. limit is, in my opinion, very conservative!

Any other questions, I'll do my best to answer!

It says they'll hold up to 33lbs. If your speakers weigh less than 33lbs then you're good to go.
