Rotel RCD-855 CD Player Error Message

Any thoughts from anyone on why I might suddenly be getting the "ERROR" message on all CDs?

    Could be a number of reasons, the most likely being the optical pick up has failed or it could be a logic board failure. Can you hear the CD spinning?

    That player is about 24 years old at this point it is probably running on fumes. Time to let it go. If you want a Rotel that will match it and probably last just as long get the RCD-1072.

    That should be a easy fix. That transport uses a very common Sony KSS-213C. They are inexpensive and very easy to replace. B&D enterprises should have them in stock, ask for Bud. Try to avoid purchasing one off of EBay if possible, it's a real crap shoot to get a good one. While your in there replace the belts. P.S. Don't forget to remove the ESD solder jumper on the laser. Always use a ground strap while working on the laser.

    I don't know if that particular player is even worth the expense or time put into it. With many good cdp's out there these days on the used market, a hundred bucks can buy you something just as good if not better.

    yep fish tacos that is why I went for the taco's.....bet they are just scrumptious after the FIRST store visit....:lol:
