The ClubPolk recommendation is (from George of the NJ Grands) get enough power to light up a decent sized town, then get a litle more than that. With that said, I have a measley 200W/ch running to my RT55i's. The only way more power is bad is if it's obscenely more power, like pushing 1000W through a speaker rated for 10W max, even then it probably won't blow it up.

Yes, more power is a good thing. I am using a Carver M1.5t (351 wpc) to drive my RT7's as fronts and have yet to experience a problem. No worries there.

Man, I miss George around here.

    Troy,
Did adding the extra power make a big difference in the sound of your rig? I have a feeling my 800i's could benefit greatly from more power.

I saw Santa the other day and told him I wanted a "big amp":D

I wish George would come back, too.
I know I'm addicted: I might be able to refrain from posting, but I doubt I could go more than a few days without reading.

George is absolutely correct, there is no substitute for lots of good, clean power.

It was a night and day difference for me to be honest.

Yeah, I couldn't stay away but I understand George's reasons.
