And the next piece of gear I need to move is my Emotiva UMC-1. I bought this used and am the 2nd owner. Comes with all original accessories and box/manual. I also have the silver side pieces that will go with it and the black ones you see in the picture. The unit has been a strong performer for me and has the latest firmware. Amazing shape, can't find a scratch. Upgrading to a Marantz 7005 or 7701 (depends on what I find).
Plenty of reviews out there to read, some good some bad, some brilliant, some ignorant.
300 bucks + shipping + paypal.

You might want to post original purchase date so a potential buyer can calculate remaining warranty. Emo gear has a 5 year warranty, transferable. This fact certainly helps keep resale values up. If you don't know purchase date, you can contact Emo with the serial number and they will tell you.My 7.4.4 DIY 4k Home Theater:

No, the upgrade certificate does not come with the unit.
I've never used the USB on it. Didn't know that was even an option to be honest. I have a standalone DAC and never had the want or need to use USB until then. In my opinion, the internal dac isnt bad. I've spent some time listening to sacd through a hdmi cable and the sound was solid. I prefer running it direct through the marantz player but overall it's been fine. -
And as for warranty, I have no idea when the original purchase date was. There must be about two years left even if it was a very early model. I'm about 50 bucks lower on price than ebay so i'm not trying to "improve" it's value with something like the warranty.

The USB is for updates only.
You can call Emotiva to figure out the warranty. If the previous owner never transferred it to you, you will have to give them the previous owner's name. The warranty is tied to the name and not the serial number.
For the price, the sound quality in two channel is very good. -
The Emotiva literature has always said that USB type b is for updates only. The USB type a is labelled for future expansion. I don't think there was ever any use for it. (The UMC-200 uses type a for the Bluetooth adapter.)
I never tried using the USB while I had a UMC-1, but I have never heard of anybody else using it for audio. A quick Google search turns up nothing. I would check Emotiva before assuming it can do audio. -
I still wish Nick would gives us a hint in what he is doing with his rig!! I have a suspicion it's going to be good!!

I believe the one USB is for updates and the other was for expansions that never happened with this model. Emotive is really good over the phone when I used the umc 1. Personally I found it to be a killer 2 channel rig for home theater. Many people are running powered monitors with these for bedroom set ups. The imagining on this unit rivaled my b&k ref 50. The only thing I did not like about this unit was the stock remote. I truly loathed the thing and found it would be better for home defence, it's solid milled aluminum with no back lighting. For the price 300.00 is legit. Only reason I sold mine was for a more condensed set up and I wanted AirPlay so now I run a marantz 6006, my new speakers are crazy efficient so I didn't need an outboard amp anymore either. Glwts
