I have a pair of RTA-12C in near mint condition, as you can see from the pictures. No scratches, dings, or dents on the cabinets and no tears or scratches in the woofers. They still sound fantastic.

$200 to be picked up locally in the Los Angeles area.

That speaker isn't known for being accurate when it comes to tweeter array. I've owned a pair of RTA12C with SL1000.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I really need to put this stuff in a sticky as I have documented dozens of RTA12s I suspect his serial numbers on back are between 18,200 and 21.000

    RTA12C EARLY Early 1984- late 1985 Usaully MW6600x (sometimes MW 6501) with SL1000s and a fuse.
RTA 12C LATE Late 1985-1987 Usaully MW6501s with SL2000s and polyswitch

    Hope that helps.

PS I think the ones that came with 6501s and SL1000 sound way different and not right to me

I knew you'd chime in Keith sorry my thinking was that if C most likely had SL2000. The RTA12's seem to be factory franken polks:P

Yup, early RTA12C with SL1000s and a fuse. Serial numbers 20621 and 20736.

I've never heard the other RTA12 variants so I can't comment on the differences, but this pair has a wonderfully open and wide soundstage that reminds me of open-baffle designs. I used to own AV123 X-Statiks so the comparison is apt. Tonally it's on the warmer side of neutral, making them very easy to listen to and not fatiguing during extended listening sessions at even spirited levels.

He might have just wanted PM ability, which is understandable or he realized its now 100 posts , instead of 10, until you can sell something and gave up.
