I have questions on speaker placement/speaker options...
I will try to be as complete and detailed as possible. My room is rectangular which gives me one long wall for tv,equipment and front speakers. No problems there. My dilema is choosing the right rear surrounds and their placement in my 5.1 system.I have a narrow passage behind the couch that leads to the breakfast/kitchen area.It is the easiest and most logical entry to those rooms.I have a kitchen countertop that has about a foot overhang to make that even tighter.I currently have my 9's as surrounds on stands approximately 6 inches behind the couch on each end of the couch.I am considering getting the lsi/fx's and mounting them on available space higher up on the wall which would place the surrounds about 4 feet behind and 8 feet above me.My concern is I may not be able to hear them because they are so high above and firing foward and not being angled downward.I am also considering the in ceiling speakers that have more flexibility on placement and would fire down.I know i can play with the processor for delay,etc...What do you experts think? Post pic's if available. Thanks, Eddie

Nice set-up you got there. Here is a picture of the way my set-up is laid out.
The Polk Dipole/Bipole wall mount speakers would be an excellent choice for your system.
It is perfectly normal and actually great sounding to put the rear/side speakers a few feet above you seated listening position. It sounds amazing. -
Actually, straight from the THX website:
"Surround Left & Right Speakers (SL & SR): Place the SL & SR speakers between 90° to 110° to each side and 2 feet or higher above the listener." -
I have AM-40 brackets by Pinpoint holding my monitor 30s in the rear. They are rated for holding 55 pounds and have a swivel ball and socket type mount for adjustment. I highly recommend them.

They are on studs now but when I had the 30s as mains I had to use mollys and it still held them without moving. Might be an easier way to go than in-ceiling with the wiring and whatnot.
